WWW: This is a really impressive blog already – well done! It’s very clear that you are reading the examples on the GHS blog and making sure you are completing the tasks in almost all of your work. Your fruit bowl is outstanding (you’ve captured the winter palette perfectly) and your film poster analysis shows you are already getting to grips with the key concepts of media. This clearly demonstrates your potential both in technical and creative skills and media analysis. Keep up the good work!
EBI: Currently, your 10 questions work is unfinished (missing the last couple of answers) so that’s the first thing to resolve:
10 questions blog task: https://mediamacguffingcseyear1.blogspot.com/2022/09/welcome-to-gcse-media.html
Welcome to GCSE Media Studies - we have a brilliant two-year journey ahead of us and can't wait to get started! Over the next two years you will create some amazing production work, learn a huge amount about analysing the media and end up with an excellent GCSE grade. mediamacguffingcseyear1.blogspot.com |
Once you have completed those last two questions, the only other point I would make is making sure your connotation/analysis is the most detailed aspect of your work. It’s also vital to make sure you are using media terminology accurately when exploring deeper meetings. Finally, to aim for that grade 8 or 9 (which I totally agree with!) then you’ll need to be exploring all the different possible meanings and what potential effects a text may have on the audience. You also want to be taking on the extension tasks on the blog every week too.
LR: Post the missing/incomplete piece of work.
9) Why was the casting of Jodie Whittaker a significant moment in the history of Doctor Who?
10) What aspects of this scene do you think an audience might enjoy? List at least three things and explain why the audience would enjoy each aspect.
- Special effects it makes the more interesting
- The background makes it more entertaining
- Camera angles make it more suspenseful
Then, create a new blogpost on your Media blog called ‘Blog feedback and Learner Response’. Copy and paste this WWW/EBI feedback into your blogpost then complete the LR tasks/questions below.
Reflect on your first month of Media. What do you feel is your strongest piece of work so far? What is your weakest? What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course?
I really enjoyed making the Key Concepts film poster analysis because it is my strongest piece of work however I do not believe I have a weakest piece of work as I try my hardest in every task. I believe that I need to work on my paragraph writing skills however other than that I am doing quite well.
